IMPORTANT! Your NAMACB certificate includes your NAMACB-certified status. However, it is important to know that the NAMACB is a certification board and does not confer titles. You are advised to check with your home state’s laws and regulations regarding the use of titles including that of “Doctor”.
The Certified Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner is an Ayurvedic professional who has specific specialized training in Ayurveda with overview training in conventional medicine that enables them to interface with western medical practitioners and provide comprehensive Ayurvedic healthcare to their patients.
“The title “Ayurvedic Doctor Level Certified ” has been awarded to all AAP members and Beta testers that passed the exam, in this grandparenting period for the highest level designation. The new title as of Spring 2025, is: Certified Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner (CAAP)

In order to take the Certified Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner Board Exam the following requirements must be accomplished first:

During the application process, you will have your school provide proof of your curriculum and transcripts that meets the Educational Outline for Competency and Educational Requirements set by the Ayurvedic Accreditation Commission.
Full payment of exam:
$75 - Non Refundable Application fee for Accredited programs.
$200 - Non Refundable application fee for Non-Accredited programs$460 remaining for Registration Fee
For the newly board certified, if you would like to become a Professional Member of NAMA after you take the official exam a $100 credit will be applied to your first year’s Professional Membership dues. NAMA website →
*Note: Candidates from fully online programs will not qualify for the exams at this time due to lack of in person hours and client encounters.
Board certification Exam Requirements
The AAP exam is a two-part exam. Each part may be taken separately or both parts may be taken back-to-back.
All questions are in multiple choice format.
The exam can be taken in-person or online. There are multiple exam sites available internationally, with the option to take the exam from your home provided you meet technical and security requirements.
