Ayurvedic Health Counselor


An Ayurvedic Health Counselor is a professional trained to focus on preventive healthcare as well as heath promotion with a specific focus on diet and lifestyle through traditional Ayurvedic medical science principles and practices.


Examination requirements

In order to take the Ayurvedic Health Counselor exam the following requirements must be accomplished first:

  • Complete the Educational Requirements of 600-1000 hrs as laid out in the AHC Educational Outline for Competencies. Download AHC Outline →

  • Provide proof of education that meets the guideline standards.

  • Full payment of $375 due at time of registration.

  • If you would like to become a member of NAMA after you take the exam a $100 credit will be applied to your membership fees. NAMA website →


  • The exam holds approximately 100 questions.

  • All questions are in multiple choice format.

  • Test takers have 150-minutes to complete the exam.

  • The exam is taken online. There are multiple exam sites available internationally, with the option to take the exam from your home provided you meet technical and security requirements.
